The 10th World Congress of African Linguistics was hosted by the Leiden University Centre for Linguistics and took place in a virtual mode from the 7th to the 12th of June 2021. It contained a large number of presentations and also a small number of workshops. One of those workshops was facilitated by our Circle, with the title “Let’s turn to Policy“.
There was a large interest in the workshop, which had three sessions: one was devoted roughly to a discussion of problems with current policy approaches, the second concentrated on some national examples of new developments; the last one concentrated on the need for new directions. The list of presentations is still available from the online Conference platform.
A number of the papers given at the workshops will be combined with other work and is likely to lead to a book publication some time in 2022.
